September 21 Gurrie Tiger Notes
On Friday, our students attended the Gurrie Activity Fair and explored the many amazing sports, clubs, and extracurricular opportunities our school offers. We are very fortunate that District 105 supports such a wide variety of activities, ensuring that every student can find at least one that matches their interests and needs. Getting involved is such an important part of middle school growth, it helps students build friendships, leadership, and responsibility while also preparing them for the many opportunities they’ll encounter in high school.
We encourage you to talk with your student about what they learned at the fair and help them choose at least one activity to join. For most clubs, we provide a late bus so that students who ride the bus can still participate and get home safely after their activity.
Proud to be a tiger!
Dr. Mendoza

We are headed to the Forge on Wednesday, the 24th, and it promises to be an amazing experience for our students! If you have not yet signed the waiver, please do so as soon as possible. Students without a completed waiver will not be able to participate.

Helping Students Stay Present: Our Cell Phone Policy
At Gurrie, we encourage students to keep their phones turned off and stored in their lockers during the school day. However, as long as phones are not visible and not in use, they meet our school policy.
This expectation helps minimize distractions, encourages students to stay engaged with learning, and promotes positive interactions with their peers. If you need to reach your child during the day, please call the main office, and we will make sure your message is delivered.
Thank you for partnering with us to keep our Tigers focused and ready to learn each day.
Pleasantview Safety Day - September 27
Yearbook Ordering:
Please order your child's yearbook early. If you order your yearbook by September 26th, the yearbook will be $20. That is a $5 savings! After September 26th, the price will increase to $25, so order yours soon!
Ordering a yearbook is important for students and families because it preserves irreplaceable school memories, provides a tangible keepsake for reflection, and offers a unique window into a child's school life. Your child will look back at this yearbook for years to come and be reminded of all the amazing things that they did, accomplished, and were a part of. Yearbooks are $25 and can be purchased in person with either cash or check, or online through this website: jostensyearbooks.com
This year, we are continuing with the option to customize their yearbook. This will be an additional cost and is ONLY available online. If you have already purchased one in person and would like to switch to the customization option, please reach out to Mrs. Neadly through either ParentSquare or email: lneadly@d105.net.
If you would like to submit photos for consideration for the yearbook or are wondering if you have purchased a yearbook, please send them to Mrs. Neadly through either ParentSquare or her email: lneadly@d105.net.
